Support Services (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4PM)
Laboratory
Nationally certified, the laboratory is equipped to perform many routine tests in-house that are ordered by our clinicians for the evaluation of acute illness. A variety of tests are available through a nationally certified reference lab in the provision of chronic and/or preventative care. Those tests ordered by an outside physician incur a charge.
X-ray
A full-time radiological technologist provides basic, somewhat limited, x-ray services for the diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and injury, with some follow-up service offered. There is a separate charge for the radiologist's reading of most in-house x-rays. The charge is billed to the patient's insurance company or responsible party by Watauga Radiological Services.

Pharmacy
The Pharmacy is located in the After-Hours/In-patient area of the Health Service. It is to be accessed by entering the After-Hours/In-Patient door and proceeding down the left-hand hallway. The Pharmacy is located on the right. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4 PM.
The primary focus of the Pharmacy is to meet the acute needs of the student, whether acute injury or illness. A limited formulary supports this focus. The Pharmacy employs a full-time pharmacist and experienced pharmacy technicians. Prescription and non-prescription medications, patient counseling, and information about medications are offered. Students may have any prescriptions filled, provided the medication is part of the formulary. There is a nominal charge for most Pharmacy items. A valid Student ID is required.
