Protect yourself from measles
Measles is a highly contagious virus with increasing cases in the U.S. — symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, conjunctivitis and a rash.
- To protect yourself and others, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and AppHealthCare encourage everyone to review their measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine immunization history and receive the MMR vaccine if necessary.
- Two doses of the MMR vaccine, spaced as recommended by your health care provider, is 97% effective at preventing measles.
- App State students can review their vaccine and medical records using the Student Health Portal and can receive the MMR vaccine at Student Health Service or AppHealthCare by requesting an appointment.
