Health Service Fees

Student Health Access Fee

The Student Health Access Fee for the 2023-2024 academic year is $172.50. Many services offered at the Student Health Service are pre-paid by the student health fee including your clinician visits. Students are responsible for their own bills if referred to Watauga Medical Center, an outside physician, or pharmacy.

Student Health Access Fee Coverage

There is no charge for seeing a clinician (Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physicians Assistant) during Regular Clinic or After-Hours Clinic. There is no charge for MOST lab work done in the M.S. Shook Student Health Service Lab, if one of our clinicians deems it clinically necessary. Prices vary for any lab work ordered by an "outside" clinician.

Additional Charges

Payment options for any additional charges include Cash, Check, Express Account, Credit Card, Debit Card, or adding the charge to a students tuition account with a valid Student ID. If we are in network with your current insurance provider, charges (excluding pharmacy) can be courtesy filed to your insurance. This is a very small sample of some common items that have additional charges.

Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
